River's Edge Montessori School Philosophy Statement

Our River's Edge Montessori School Philosophy builds from one basic premise: ALL CHILDREN CAN AND WILL LEARN. We believe that each child comes to us with his own learning style and set of acquired competencies.

It is our mission to meet each child at his individual developmental level and facilitate meaningful learning experiences. We will create a “prepared environment” and harness all possible support services to insure that each child acquires the necessary competencies for success. 

We respect the self worth of each child and strive to develop each child’s positive self image by providing a nurturing environment throughout the school. We believe that a positive self image leads to a well adjusted, self disciplined child. 

Since child development is not an isolated task of the school, we realize that we must form a partnership with parent and community to insure that each child is successful.

  SCHOOL GOALS

1. Increase student achievement on all levels of the Ohio Proficiency Test.

2. Maintain a total school attendance rate of 93% or better

3. Establish a learning atmosphere where students will apply acquired
competencies and strive for excellence.

4. Increase parent and community involvement in our school program.

5. Direct our efforts to effectively manage student behavior in the
common areas of the school: on the playground, in the eating area, in
the halls, and in the classroom.
