Karla Goins, Principal

Dear Parents and Community members,

I am very proud to be in my first year as a principal be here at the new Louise Troy PreK-3 School. We are combing with the Wogaman 4-8 building and the Dunbar High School to create a campus where education is used as the most important path to each young person becoming the best they can be. I have been in the field of education for 19 years, in the dynamic district of Dayton Public Schools. I have served as literacy and math intervention coaches, which provides me with a well-rounded background in serving our youngest learners.

The staff is dedicated to leading all students to reach higher. The new Common Core standards are the framework each staff member uses during instruction. The teachers and support personnel work to improve themselves through continuing education, professional development and collaboration with colleagues.

We recognize that none of our educational goals can be met without a safe and warm environment. Outstanding support is given to us by parents and community agencies to insure safety and success for all. We address the whole person, not just the mind. Our caring staff is always looking out for the interests of each and every person they contact.

Visiting this site, our classrooms and the school are the best ways to keep informed. Watch for newsletters and fliers, and remember to always call with questions. Collaboration between home and school is a basic building block to success. Thank you for trusting your most precious possession to our care. We will not let you down.

It’s About the Kids,
