For Immediate Release
Dayton Public Schools would like to remind parents that all incoming seventh-grade students are required to have an additional Tdap immunization before the 2011-2012 school year begins on Aug. 17.
The Tdap immunization – which guards against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis – is required by state law. Students may receive the shot at their family doctors, or through Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County; call 225-5700 for more information.
Students will need to obtain and submit documentation to the school or school nurse before they will be allowed to begin the school year.
See here for a complete list of all immunizations required by grade level.
For more information on Tdap, contact Marianne Urban, director of DPS Health Services, at 542-3405.
