A Note From Our Principal
The Future Of Dayton Starts Here
About Our School
Dayton Boys Prep, where less than our best is failure
Dayton Boys Prep Academy, a single-gender school, is nestled in the Roosevelt community west of downtown Dayton. Founded in the 2005 – 2006 school year, Dayton Boys Prep Academy currently serves young men from pre-kindergarten through seventh grade, and will add the eighth grade in the fall of 2011.
The fundamental principals guiding Dayton Boys Prep Academy are embedded in its mission statement: Excellence in learning, Leadership, Character and Personal Accountability. To these ends, the school provides average-size classes, individual attention, and a variety of extracurricular activities. Its dedicated staff and faculty are current with best practices research in the core curriculum and single-gender education.
Parents are encouraged to participate in their son’s education through extended at-home activities, school events, support of good work habits and study skills, and frequent contact with staff. Our athletic and extracurricular programs are designed to give students lessons in focused effort, selflessness, grace in victory or in defeat, and enjoyment of the rewards that come from striving for shared success and team work with one’s peers. Self-expression is strongly encouraged through the arts: visual, performing, language and physical.
Dayton Boys Prep Academy is committed to preparing students for the demands of a rigorous secondary education. Beyond that, the school strives to produce young men who are morally, intellectually and emotionally prepared to flourish in an ever more demanding world. Our motto proclaims: “Less than our best is failure”.
