Loos students celebrate American history through Civil War reenactment
05/05/2005
Loos elementary staff, students, and families will celebrate American history on May 18 in the school gymnasium, 45 Wampler Ave.
Students in kindergarten through sixth grade will share songs, dances, plays, poems, and dramatic presentations commemorating moments in American history that students have been studying in their classes.
From 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., the kindergarten, first-, second-, third-, and fifth-grade bands will perform. At 1:30 p.m., the fourth- and sixth grade bands will perform.
The event will culminate at 2:30 with a Civil War reenactment.
Funded through a History Fellows grant through the DPS office of academic services in conjunction with Wright State University, the program will also provide free lunches for parents.
