Edison, UD partner to provide bikes for students

On March 29, 15 students at Edison PreK-8 School received a refurbished bike, courtesy of University of Dayton students. The Wheels for Kids program has provided each Dayton Public Schools neighborhood school center with these bikes, which are collected and refurbished through the all-volunteer efforts of UD students. These bikes arrive just in time for the all-school Community Health and Safety Day, which includes a bike rodeo in April. In addition to the bike, each child received a new helmet (courtesy of Children’s Medical Center of Dayton), a bike lock, T-shirt, and a UD “big brother/big sister,” who taught students basic bike safety lessons.
